(Or why I hate their greedy guts.)

Not long ago, I wrote an article about how nice and cheap my smartphone is as an AT&T "GoPhone".

Then a few days ago I went to add $5 worth of data to my service, in preparation for a trip I'm making soon. ... only to find that option had been yanked.

I know many people who are paying $50-70 per month for their phone service. Are you crazy? In three years of ownership your smartphone will cost $2,100-2,820!

My DIY Radiant Basement Floor Project

I decided to put a radiant floor in my basement back in 2007. We had just ripped out our stinking rotten carpet after two floods and were contemplating new flooring, and thinking about the dank dark cold underutilized space in our basement. Radiant was a good solution for us because:

Recently, I decided to try bicycle commuting. After all, I need the exercise, and - like many people - I find it really difficult to find or make time for it. Yet, I enjoy biking, and I have to get to work somehow anyway, and my commute is about the right length to be a good vigorous workout (9.8 miles each way), and my working schedule is flexible.

Thinking About Safety

It bothers me that so many "Utah air quality" oriented pages talk so much about driving less. There are reasons why that isn't going to amount to much:

I happen to play the guitar, and there is so much great equipment out there I just have to talk about it.
